CREAM CAKE GIRL

Deep within the city where it's never really dark
A woman's walking home alone - a simple legal clerk
She clutches tight her briefcase - ah! What was that dreadful sound?
They're keeping to the shadows but she knows that they're around;

The hunger and the craving
No mortal can deny
She knows the fridge is empty
She throws her head back, drops her keys and cries:

Cream Cake Girl!
I need your help, where are you now?
Cream Cake Girl!
I need some cake, and you know how:
Butter sugar eggs and flour
Gas Mark 5 for half an hour
She's got Profiterole Power! -
Has Cream Cake Girl!

In a quiet suburb where the river's not too far
An artist and a scholar carries books in from the car
She's up late writing essays and she knows her subject well
But she's heard something that scares her and she's not sure who to tell;

It sounded like her stomach
It caught her by surprise
It's way too late for dinner
So she shuts the book, puts down the pen and cries:

Cream Cake Girl!
I need your help, where are you now?
Cream Cake Girl!
I need some cake, and you know how:
Butter sugar eggs and flour
Gas Mark 5 for half an hour
She's got Profiterole Power! -
Has Cream Cake Girl!
