Simon Fairbourn
Bassoon, Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals, Recorder, Whistles

Simon Fairbourn hails from the classically trained side of music; his other band is in fact an orchestra, and he’s usually seen wearing his trademark tweed and carrying a large piece of tree. Whether this is the bass guitar or his beloved bassoon depends on the song, but you can be assured that he’ll probably pick up something else in a song or two’s time, often adding vocal harmonies as well.

Simon’s also a talented studio engineer and his secret vices are malt whiskey and real ale, and he’s also a radio ham – which explains the outbreak of musical morse in more than one of Talis’s songs. He’s still waiting, however, for Talis to let him play French Horn onstage.
